A modern $8.1 million ambulance station is strengthening emergency care across Logan, providing local paramedics with the facilities they need to respond faster and better support one of South East Queensland’s fastest-growing communities.
FOR almost 50 years, the Springwood Ambulance Station has been a familiar part of the Logan community, with generations of paramedics answering thousands of Triple Zero calls from its doors.
Now, a new chapter has begun with the opening of a purpose-built $8.1 million facility designed to support the next generation of frontline emergency care.
Officially operational, the new Springwood Ambulance Station has been built to meet the needs of one of South East Queensland’s fastest-growing regions, providing Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) crews with modern facilities and expanded capacity as demand for emergency healthcare continues to rise.
The replacement station is home to 22 paramedics, two Patient Transport Officers and an Officer-in-Charge, who collectively help deliver life-saving care across Springwood and surrounding suburbs.
The station features upgraded staff amenities, dedicated rest and study areas, a multi-purpose training and conference room, and a spacious vehicle bay capable of housing seven ambulances and two patient transport vehicles.
Each year, Queensland Ambulance Service crews respond to more than 1.3 million incidents across the state, making modern infrastructure an essential part of ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care when every second counts.
The Government has also welcomed an additional 373 frontline Queensland Ambulance Service staff ahead of winter to help meet increasing demand across the state.
As Logan continues to grow, the new Springwood Ambulance Station represents more than just a new building. It is an investment in the people behind the uniforms, ensuring local paramedics have the space, equipment and resources they need to continue providing life-saving care for the community for decades to come.
