Real snow, toasted marshmallows, hot chocolate and a brand-new playground — Penguin Early Education is bringing a flurry of family fun to Boronia Heights.
FOR one magical winter morning, Penguin Early Education at 88 Parklands Drive, Boronia Heights will swap sunshine for snowflakes as it transforms into a Winter Wonderland complete with real snow, marshmallow toasting, steaming cups of hot chocolate and enough winter fun to make even Elsa consider relocating to Logan.
The free community event on July 25 running from 9.30am through 12:30pm, is more than just a chance for children to experience a rare snowy adventure. It is also a celebration of community, connection and the official opening of Stage 1 of the centre’s new playground.
For Penguin Early Education owner and director Lucy Schweizer-Cook, the event is a way of thanking the local families who have embraced the centre since it opened.
“We wanted to bring the snow to Logan and create something special for local families,” she said.
“As a fairly new centre in the community, this is our way of giving back and saying thank you to everyone who has welcomed us.”
Families can expect a morning packed with winter-themed fun, including snow play, creative crafts, games, sensory activities and plenty of photo opportunities for little ones keen to strike a pose in their winter woollies.
There will also be free hot chocolate and marshmallow toasting because every winter adventure deserves a sweet treat.
While the event is designed to be fun, it also reflects the philosophy at the heart of Penguin Early Education.
